The human body

The human body should be the eight wonder of the world. There are so many parts that make it complex but today in this article I’ll explain them all slowly. At the end I’ll have some fun facts. So now I should start. 😄

At the top of our body we start in the head. There is the hair. Our hair is made out of dead cells. Under that is some more layers such as scalp and now we reach the skull. The skull is around 3 times harder than concrete! It protects our brain. The brain is the most important part of the body it consists of some segments. There is the frontal lobe. It is the biggest part of the brain and contains the most information. There are also many other parts.

Now let’s go to the head. There are lots of parts of our head. Everybody knows that there is a nose, some ears, eyes and a mouth. Your nose can detect around a TRILLION smells. A smell comes from something called odour particles. Odour means a smell. When these particles go inside you nose they get detected. Then the information goes to the brain and then they recognise it as a smell.

Our ears have 3 different parts. There is the inner ear, the middle ear and the outer ear. The outer ear is where earwax gathers. The middle ear has the eardrum inside. If you damage your eardrum just a bit it would lead to some serious issues. In the inner ear we have some things that control your motion. Unfortunately I forgot the name 😬. Anyway it controls if you get dizzy or not. There are three of these things. 1 senses the yes motion, another senses the no motion and the last one senses the spinning motion. There is fluid inside these things. The only reason you that you feel dizzy is because when you stop spinning around the fluid is still moving.

Now we are up to the eyes. The eyes only work because of the brain. You also need light. The light starts it’s journey into the eye at the pupil. When there is too much light your pupil gets smaller and when there is not enough it gets bigger. Once you get past here you have to go to the back of the eye. The back of the eye is called the retina. Over there there are things called rods and cones. Rods only see black and white while cones can see red, blue and green. Together these colours  make the visible light spectrum. When there is a colour missing it is called colour blindness.

After that we are at the mouth. In the mouth there is your teeth. Your teeth have 3 layers. Enamel, dentin and pulp. Your enamel is the white part of your teeth. When you eat your food wears down your enamel and your teeth turn yellow. That layer is the dentin. To replace your enamel you have to brush. But if you don’t brush for long enough your teeth will rot away. Under this layer there is the pulp. The pulp is where your blood vessels are in your teeth. That the reason why when you take your tooth out there is blood.

Once we are finished with the head we get down to the neck. Your neck has something called vocal chords inside. The vocal chords control how your voice sounds. The longer they are the more deep your voice is. A males voice is deep because the chords are long and they vibrate less. A woman’s voice is shriller because the chords are shorter than the males chords.

Well now we have quite a lot of information. You can take a quick break to think about the information. But now we are in the heart. In the grinch the grinch is evil because there is a spider in his heart. Well real life is not even close to it being like that. Your heart has to be very strong to pump blood all over inside your body. From your toes to your head. There are red blood cells and white blood cells. These cells go up, down and around in the blood vessels. The blood goes on a huge journey around the body and when it’s done it comes back to the heart.

Now we are at the lungs. Your left lung is actually bigger than your right lung. Corona virus can infect your lungs and that’s why lots of people are now scared of other people than just got pneumonia.

Next we are at the oesophagus. This is where your food goes down to the stomach. There isn’t really anything to know about the oesophagus. So we’ll move on to the stomach.

The stomach is very important. In your stomach there is some acid that breaks down your food. If you don’t eat for too long the acid burns up your stomach.

We are nearly done. To the intestines. There are two intestines. One is thin and long and another is short but wide. When your food goes down it reaches your…
