My visit to the Great Ocean Road

Image
The great ocean road is one of the most visited places in Victoria. This is the story of my trip there. I woke up excited although I was also very late. Everyone except me was nearly finished getting ready. I had to hurry! Then we finished packing up my suitcase. We had lots of sweets in there but not any spicy except for some green peas. We also had some extra clothes just in case. After that all of us went into our Nissan x-trail. We all started going happily. We were going to Lorne beach. We passed all the shops. It took us around 20 minutes to get to the Princess Highway. Then we went onwards. I was tirelessly looking for hotels for an hour. Then I just gave up. We heard the police siren behind us. Fortunately there was an emergency lane and we went into it. Then the police stopped and  came to our car. I was a bit concerned and scared. One of the officers went to the door and we opened the window. We talked and they told us that our car registration had expired for 23 days. My...

5 fun riddles to do when you are bored

Image
Hello guys. Today we are going to solve some riddles that I made. The rules are... You can’t cheat and look at the answers I have below unless you really need to. If you want to, you can do this with some other family members. And most importantly, have fun! Now let’s start the riddles. 1. Imagine that you are having a leisure walk around the neighbourhood, (and you are not near anybody). Suddenly you hear a noise above you and you try to sprint to safety, but unfortunately you didn’t make it. Then you fall unconscious and when you wake up you see 3 different doors. Luckily they are made out of tough glass and you can see through them. You saw that the first door lead to a endless sea, the second one lead to tons of venomous creatures and the last one leads to a hungry lion that hasn’t ate for a year. Which one should you choose?  2. You have a glass of milk, a glass of water and a bowl. Your friend asks you to keep the milk and water on top of each other in the bowl without them m...

Human body cells

Image
Hello, my blog viewers. Today we are going to learn about the tiny building blocks that make up us and other animals. Can you guess what it is? It’s cells! The cell is made out of different parts.  Let’s look at them now.  If you were shrunk to a  size that lets you fit through the cell and you found one, the first thing you would see is the cells outer shell. We call it the cell membrane. The cell membrane only lets specific things in. If you could somehow get in, you would see the different parts of the cell.  The different parts of the cell are called organelles. The organelles that you would see are the Nucleus, some Mitochondria, the Endoplasmic reticulum, some Lysosomes and the Golgi apparatus, but when you walk you will realise that there is one more part, and it is the most important. It’s the Cytoplasm! It provides a surface for the organelles to live on. Let’s learn more about the organelles.  The Nucleus decides and controls most of the functi...

5 things to do when you are bored

Image
All of us sometimes feel bored. You’re probably reading this blog because you’re bored. But... today I’m going to show you 5 things to do when you are bored. 1. Making art. Drawings are a great way to get rid of unnecessary stress. When you draw it let’s your mind relax and your imagination run wild. Colouring does the same and you can choose your colours and make your picture look unique. I also like drawing because nobody can stop you from choosing your choices. If you like you can write, edit, paint, fold,       make origami, cut, paste, stick and bend paper. 2. Making what you want to. Everybody has a hobby. For example I like making blogs, quizzes, projects and YouTube videos. I like making blogs because you can write what you want to. My blog wouldn’t even have grown this big without everyone who reads my blog. I make projects on PicCollage because anyone can access the images, backgrounds, fonts, controls and make as much projects as they want. I lik...

The story of chocolate part 2

Image
The Mayans were the first people to plant the beans of wild cocoa trees. This was the beginning of cocoa farming. In return for other goods, the Mayans traded cocoa beans to the Aztecs, whose lands were too dry to grow cocoa trees. Both the Mayans and the Aztecs used cocoa beans to make a drink known as chocolatl. The beans were dried and crushed, and then mixed with water. The Mayans drank chocolatl hot, whilst the Aztecs drank it cold. Often flavourings, such as chilli or vanilla, were added. Nevertheless, the taste must have been bitter. In fact, the word chocolatl is said to mean “bitter water”. Chocolatl was served on special occasions, such as rituals and royal feasts. The mixture was usually poured from a height into the drinking vessel to make a thick foam on the top. Both the Mayans and the Aztecs use cocoa beans as money. They also gave beans as special gifts, and as offerings for the gods. The land where cocoa trees grew became very valuable. Over several centuries...

The story of chocolate part 1

Image
The story of chocolate begins in the rainforest, where cocoa trees grow. Pods grow on the cocoa trees and inside the pods are seeds called cocoa beans.  These cocoa beans are the magical ingredient in chocolate. Cocoa trees grow in the hot, damp shade under the leafy canopy of the tallest tree in the rainforest. There, the cocoa trees blossom with pink and white flowers. These flowers grow strait from the trunk and main branches. Tiny insects called midges carry pollen between the blossoms, fertilising them so cocoa pods will grow. Only a few of the hundreds of blossoms develop into cocoa pods. Like the blossoms, the pods grow straight from the trunk and branches of the tree. Many cocoa trees grow both blossoms and pods all year around.  In about 4 months, the cocoa pods grow to the size of melons. It takes another month before they are fully ripe. The colour of the ripe pods ranges from yellow to dark red. The pods are hard and must be split open to show the bean...
